At Sweet Tooth, we understand that not all of our patients are the same. Don't worry, we are here to help!

We have many options available at each of our locations. We provide a relaxed, safe and comfortable dental experience. We offer various levels of sedation ranging from laughing gas to deep sedation.

Our sedation dentistry options make procedures more tolerable and are designed to relieve the stress and anxiety that some experience when going to the dentist.

Is Sedation Right For Your Child?

Sweet Tooth will help you find an option that is right for you and your child. At Sweet Tooth you have options! Our sedation options include:

  • Mild Sedation - At Sweet Tooth, this is referred to as laughing gas! Laughing gas works within just a few minutes of your child breathing. It works wonderfully to reduce your child’s nervousness and anxiety. It does a great job of “taking the edge off”. Your child will walk out of our office exactly the same way he or she walked in. There are no lingering effects.

  • Moderate Sedation - At Sweet Tooth, your child will drink “princess juice or superhero juice” to help him or her become “sleepy”. Your child will begin to feel the effects of the medicine in approximately 10-20 minutes. Your child will, however, remain awake during the dental procedure, but with a blunted memory of the event, commonly known as a ”twilight” state. All of your child’s reflexes and breathing will remain normal and active. Following the dental procedure, your child will need time to recover at home for the remainder of the day and he or she will need to be carried or wheel chaired to a vehicle and driven home safely.

  • Deep Sedation - At Sweet Tooth, your child will be asleep for this dental procedure. A separate anesthesia team will be present at our office to monitor and focus on your child while the dental work is performed by our doctor. Your child’s reflexes and breathing will remain normal and active. An IV is placed to administer medications during the dental procedure to ensure the safety of your child.

Your child will have no memory of the dental procedure. Following the procedure, your child will need time to recover at home for the remainder of the day and he or she will need to be wheel chaired to a vehicle and driven home safely.
