What Is Invisalign?

Invisalign & SureSmile is a series of invisible, removable and comfortable aligners that are made using 3D computer imaging technology. Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable so you can eat and drink whatever you desire. With this method, brushing and flossing is also easy throughout the treatment.

Wearing your Invisalign & SureSmile consistently (at least 22 hours in a day) helps to ensure your success with this treatment. Clear aligners work great and are very comfortable. While Invisalign may be transparent, there's nothing invisible about the results in your smile!

Living with Invisalign

Invisalign offers a unique and flexible orthodontic experience for children and teenagers. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign aligners are removable, comfortable, and nearly invisible.

Invisalign can effectively treat many common orthodontic concerns, including:

  • Mild to moderate crowding
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Certain bite issues (like overbite or underbite)

During your consultation, we’ll determine if Invisalign is the right option for your child’s specific needs.

Benefits of Invisalign

Invisalign offers a modern approach to orthodontic treatment that combines effectiveness with flexibility and comfort. For many teens, it provides a more convenient and confidence-friendly alternative to traditional braces.

What to Expect During Treatment

Invisalign treatment is designed to be simple, flexible, and easy to manage with the right habits. From the start, we’ll create a customized treatment plan that maps out how your child’s teeth will gradually move into alignment.

Your child will wear a series of clear aligners, each set designed to make small, controlled adjustments. Aligners are typically worn for 1–2 weeks at a time before switching to the next set in the series.

For the best results, aligners should be worn 20–22 hours per day. They should only be removed for eating, drinking anything other than water, brushing, and flossing. Staying consistent with wear time is one of the most important factors in keeping treatment on track.

It’s normal to feel mild pressure or tightness when starting a new set of aligners—this is a sign that the treatment is working. Most patients adjust quickly within a day or two.

Is Invisalign Right for Your Child?

Invisalign can be an excellent option for many teens, but it’s not the best fit for every situation. The ideal candidate is someone who not only has the right type of orthodontic needs, but also the responsibility to follow through with treatment.

Invisalign works best for patients who:

  • Are responsible and able to wear aligners as directed
  • Prefer a more discreet treatment option
  • Have mild to moderate orthodontic needs

During your consultation, we’ll carefully evaluate your child’s teeth, bite, and habits. From there, we’ll help you decide whether Invisalign or braces is the best choice so you can move forward with confidence.

H2 Heading About FAQs

  • Is Invisalign as effective as braces?

In many cases, yes. Invisalign can effectively treat mild to moderate alignment issues. For more complex cases, braces may be the better option.

  • How long does Invisalign treatment take?

Treatment time varies, but many patients complete Invisalign in about 12–18 months.

  • Do aligners hurt?

There may be mild pressure when switching to a new set of aligners, but this is usually brief and a sign that treatment is working.

  • What happens if my child forgets to wear their aligners?

Consistency is important. Not wearing aligners enough can delay progress and affect results.

  • Can my child eat with Invisalign?

Aligners should be removed before eating or drinking anything other than water.
